Too Big to Fail?

A few weeks ago it was brought to my attention that there is a market for parody gear outside of just EnergyFinTwit…yeah, I’m talking about all those “big dogs” that are part of the #FinTwit. “Sure, why not take a look?” Most banks logos are literally just text. That’s not much fun. I had a hard time getting creative with them. Over the past couple of months I’ve developed a problem, where any logo I see starts to get re-arranged in my mind…usually turning into something on fire, or a piece of dog shit. Maybe that’s just my warped lens. Regardless, here’s where it all started…

Of course it’s Chuck’s fault

Then, as I did more research, I came across someone who uses my same print supplier (I recognize their stock images), and has been sitting there making FinTwit memes and slapping company’s logos onto dad hats, coffee mugs, etc. Sure, I doubt anybody is ever really going to care, and I don’t know who would want to buy a CHASE Bank coffee mug anyways (start an account with Chase and they will probably give you a legit one for free), so who cares that he’s violated about 20 trademarks? What pissed me off is that he’s being fucking lazy.

My creative team spends a lot of time working on these parodies, and there’s a reason for that. Parody is a protected form of speech. I bet a lot of you would buy an Oxy/Chesapeake/Apache/etc hat if I just straight up used their logo. That’s not what we do here. So instead of slapping other people’s logos onto shit, we’re going to expand our reach into the broader FinTwit space with more parodies. Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be launching a slew of new designs, and we are working with a new print shop to give you even more variety of the products we can slap our parodies on. As always, if you’ve got a request or a suggestion for something feel free to reach out. Ya’ll know where to find me.

P.S. if you’re the guy I was talking about…sorry, not sorry. Come at me bro.
